On Tuesday August 4, 2026, Saginaw County voters have the opportunity to continue to support the Saginaw County Parks system.
The majority of Saginaw County Parks funding is supported through a county wide millage, which is up for renewal in 2026. The millage rate has remained the same for ten years. The proposed renewal would extend the existing millage rate, with no increase, for an additional period of ten years.
Saginaw County Parks and Recreation Commission has shown great fiscal responsibility in maintaining the parks and programs within the allocated budget each year. Additionally, Saginaw County has leveraged millage dollars to acquire state and federal grants totaling over $4 million in capital project funding over the last 6 years alone.
The cost to the taxpayer is minimal and helps maintain the quality of life we enjoy in Saginaw County.
The millage cost would be only $29.42 per year for a home valued at $200,000. That is less than the cost of a dinner out.
The parks offer free admission for Saginaw County residents and almost all programs are offered at no charge.
